SEMCON08 - A Must See Event for Website Owners, Bloggers etc.
The Search Engine Marketing Conference 2008 will take place this year on September 9-10, 2008 at the Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City. It aims to educate the not-so-techy people and even the techy ones with the current status of the growing search industry. Topics range from search engine optimization, search engine marketing, pay-per-click, analytics and almost anything related to having a website and how you can promote and even earn from it. I’m sure they prepared another very good line-up of speakers this year. If you happen to be in the web industry or a website owner, you really should attend this. You may register at this link.
I was one of the lucky participants last year c/o my previous employer. My co-participant from my company was no other than my employer himself. Wanting to learn as much as I am even though he’s not that in depth when it comes to the technicalities of web development. Being on the web industry myself, I was sure I will not go home without learning anything from it. And my expectations were met, or should I say, overly met, hehe. Even my employer who’s not so techy, was very glad to have attended the event and learned a lot from it as well.
The first day, was the basics. The speakers were very young and dynamic. Even inspires me more, knowing that this can be done by anyone. You don’t have to have a PhD nor a masteral degree to enter into this industry. And did I mention that the food was great? Top of the line. Worth of every peso that my then company paid for us. The 2nd day was more on analytics and marketing. It even had an on-the-spot website makeover where I courageously volunteered our company website to be scrutinized by the panel. Good thing, most of their responses were positive.
Now, here’s my dilemma. Last year, it was sponsored by my company. But now, there’s no one to sponsor it. Not having a regular job that is. Good thing I found a probable sponsor that could help me land a ticket on this year’s SEMCON08 - from Yugatech. But why would I want to attend ‘again’ this year’s event. I want this so badly coz I know I’ll definitely learn a lot from it again. But this time, I’d like to empower this desire by wanting to share and inspire those who have the talent but don’t know how to use them. I’m referring to the students, housewife, and even regular employees who can earn from these learning if they simply know how to blog. Did I mention that I am invited as a guest speaker in an ICT Symposium this coming October? My topic is about CMS and Making Money Online. If I’d be able to attend this event, I’m sure that I can share these knowledge to everyone aside from the readers of my blog.

I’ve known gigabytes because he was a former classmate. He’s someone who will not hesitate to help and share his knowledge (and resources) to those who need his help. It is automatic for him to share whatever new knowledge he learned. In fact, in school, he is always a part of intellectual discussions.
I’m sure that whatever knowledge that he will gain if given the chance to attend this seminar will be echoed to those people who would listen to him.

I’ve been thinking of doing blogs for quite some time but haven’t had the initiative to stick to my computer and write something sensible. I have friends who are doing it professionally. I wish I can find a way on how to start blogging….

how much is the ticket cost?Im sure, he can afford to save for that, but what’s the sense of asking for support from us…simple, so we may know also of the event that awaits him and others who are interested but cant afford to come for certain reasons. Hmmm… the registration fee really surprised me.
I really hope SEMCON organizers will make this event more accessible to those who have the passion for SEM but are just starting to explore it and those who are helping educate the Filipinos re opportunities in SEM like Gigabytes!
Gigabites is a former colleague and I have always known him as intellectual and very eager to learn new things and share all his learnings to a lot of people… This seminar will give him another chance to be of help to others in this particular field of knowledge….

Oh really interesting event uh?! Based on your praises, I believe the event was very motivating and you can invite more participants effortlessly. Even I had wished was there to witness the momentous event - the Search Engine Marketing Conference 2008.
Gigabytes recently had helped me setup a website for my organization. He even shared to me the best practices he knows in setting up a website, which are really very helpful.

I’d like to see the event too but it is dated on weekdays (office *cough* salary deduction *cough*). Hope you’d get the ticket and kindly relay the information to us unfortunate people (like me) who couldn’t attend such interesting seminar.
