My First Adsense Earning
This post is a sequel from my previous post How to Earn Extra Money from Blogging.
Last May 30, 2008, I’m sure I’m not the only one who received their monthly payout from Google thru its program Google Adsense. With Google Adsense, ordinary bloggers like me, have the opportunity to earn thru its pay-per-click program (PPC). Meaning, by putting Google Adsense script thru blogs like this, an equivalent earning is reflected when someone clicks on the advertisements.
The only catch perhaps is the fact that, you can’t receive your payout not unless it reaches the minimum of $100. On the other hand, the good thing about Adsense is that, your earning has no expiration date. Like in my case, I first tried this adsense way back 2007. I made some JOOMLA websites that earned like $44 for some time even without taking care of it. Then I resumed this March 2008, and still my $44 earning is there. My earnings for March and April 2008 was added instantly.
Now that I’m paying more attention to it, the return is even greater. For the past 3 months, I averaged at $40/month ($20 for March, $42 for April and $62 for May). For June, I’m now averaging $3/day, so most likely, I’ll receive my 2nd payment at the end of July (for June 30 cut off).
How do bloggers receive their payments?
Receiving your payout doesn’t happen in an instant either. You’ll have to wait 1 month after your earnings reach $100. For example, in my case, my earnings reached $107 at the end of Apr 30, 2008. It means that I have to wait for 30 days more to get my payment. That’s why I got mine on the 30th of May.
Before, the mode of payment is only thru checks. You’ll receive a mail containing a check from Google. Now, you can choose either checks or thru Western Union. Altho checks would be a good souvenir, Western Union offers a quick and sure way to receive your payment.
Below is the actual info I got from Google, the one I showed in Wester Union to receive my payment (see image below). I got mine in Western Union in San Andres, Manila. The clerk was even surprised to see that the sender was Google, Inc, hehe. I received my payout converted into cash. The exchange rate that day was P44 / $1, so I got a total of Php4,742.00 which I immediately deposited to the bank and later invest in mutual fund

Nice! Here’s to more google adsense income!
congrats to you!
i’d like to do the same for my blog but haven’t gotten to doing it because i’m not a web techie. i’d also like something similar to what you have on the right column–the books advertised. that’s extra income too right.
anyway, glad i found your site. i’ll be coming back again and again. i’m a late bloomer in this financial planning thing. mid-life yet the investments haven’t been made yet.
Hi Ms. Inday Hami,
Thanks, eventhough $107 earnings is way way below compared to the more established bloggers that I know. At least its a good start.
With regards to the books advertised on the right column of this site, I don’t really make any money out of them. That’s free advertisement, I’m not even sure if the owners of those books know that, hehe. I’d just like to share to anyone who reads this blog the books that got me started to financial planning.
Even this blog, it’s not earning yet since my real intention for this is to share my knowledge about financial literacy. I got another blog that is made for commercial purposes - its the one that gives me my earnings Pinay Celebrity Photos and Videos http://pinaycelebritypics.blogspot.com.
You don’t need to be a techy to earn from blogging. I’ve seen your site and you got a good start. You even have your own domain and hosting. You only need to add Google Adsense and you can start earning from ads clicked.
Thank you if you find this blog worth reading. It sure inspires me to write and share even more. Thanks and God Bless Us.
nice to know that you are already reaching $3 a month.
